Placed in the American League West, the Angels went through two name changes (California Angels: 1965-1996 & the Anaheim Angels: 1997-2004) Beginning in the 2005 season the name changed to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Other nicknames used by the franchise are The Halos, The Wings, The Seraphs, Los Angelitos and Los Serafines.
In 2002, the franchise broke through and won their first AL Pennant and their first World Series. Though they have yet to get back to the Fall Classic, they have won their Division title in 2004, 07, 08 & 2009.
